The Melancholy of watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Posted by dandycandy on June 9, 2006

I watched the first two episodes of the series just about every blog is talking about nowadays – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

And to be honest, the only melancholy is that it could be funnier than everyone assumes that it is.  Don't let the title fool you, it's meant to be comedic.  And an ode to fan service with some yuri elements, and the pervertedness people come to expect.  But I do like it, I just wish it was a little more comedic.  But I have a few more episodes to go, so we'll see.

Love the ending credits, though.  Thanks Mr. Meyers, I'm thoroughly obsessed with it now.

Anyway, I think there are plenty of blogs already covering it, so I don't think I'll be posting anything here about it, but I'm a little disappointed, but that's not to say I don't like it.  I do, and maybe I'll like it more as I watch more episodes.  That Haruhi girl rocks though, her delicously wicked actions, including making pawns of the big boobed girl (can't think of her name right now) and the computer guy in episode two (you'll have to watch the episode to find out what happens, but I gave you a clue).  Pure genius.

And there you have it…my obligatory Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya post – one and only.  Link it folks, you won't see it again!

Lolikitsune: You say bitch like it’s a bad thing…*grin* I can tell she’s a real pain, but compared to all the other bitches in my life, she rather tame, so she’s deranked to “deliciously wicked”. besides, who can fault a girl who will do anything to get what she wants.

Thanks so much for commenting, though.
